I just got off the phone with AT&T to see if there were some cheaper SMS plans available. My wife and I are on a family plan and are paying $30/mo for unlimited texting for both lines.
I said we just upgraded to iOS 5 with iMessage and want to reap the benefits of bypassing SMS charges for a majority of our texts these days.
Turns out, AT&T only offers two flavors of texting:
So, thanks AT&T for once again giving me terrible service and no options to save money.
The representative was nice and answered quickly. I told her I was asking about changing my plan because iMessage is free and most of my friends and wife are on iOS5. I said “have you found people are changing their SMS plans?” She said not really.
Guess I’ll stick with AT&T …
